Coconut Oil and Eye Problems

The role of coconut oil has also been found in other eye conditions such as Archis Senilis or discoloration on the eye. Natural, organic and cold pressed coconut oil has been found to have a positive effect in this condition. Coconut oil acts by helping in an increase in HDL levels of the body; however it does not have any effect on any of the different blood elements. However, further studies are required to endorse the role of coconut oil in this condition.
The use of coconut oil has also been recommended as a natural ingredient for the eye area as in that case it works as a hydrating gel. It can be applied on the areas around the eyes which are considered to be soft parts of the body. Therefore, it is important to take care of such soft areas around the eyes. This later provides benefits to the person as the age of the individual increases over a period of time. Even use of aloe vera gel has been recommended for a similar purpose.

Another positive role that has been seen for coconut oil is in cataracts. It has been found out that 92 per cent saturated coconut oil is highly stable and is also highly resistant to oxidation. It also acts as an effective antioxidant. Several eye practitioners propagate the fact that antioxidants are capable of preventing the cataract development as people age. Thus, use of coconut oil may be effective to correct the clouding of the crystalline lens of the eye that may be associated with the condition of cataract.
