Your Hair

According to a 2010 survey by Pantene, a popular hair care company, 54% of more than 2000 women said they get more upset over "having a bad hair day" than other, more serious life issues. With today's focus on beauty, it's no wonder an average American woman can spend almost $50,000 on her hair over the course of her entire life. This includes shampoos, conditioners, styling products, hair brushes and other name brand, high-end salon products needed for their IN HOME care. In addition, most women travel out of the house and into the salons to be pampered, colored, styled, made over or just maintained. Most women like to change their look often, seeking a professional stylist with a knack for today's trends.
Most of today's women aren't 100% happy with what they have and want to change their look. Woman with curly hair want straight hair. Red heads want to be blondes; blondes want to be brunettes and so on. By experimenting with new colors and styles, woman can see what looks best on them. With new treatments such as the Keratin treatment, woman with very curly hair can easily transform their unruly locks into silky, smooth straight hair. For a less permanent approach to obtaining straight hair, women use flat irons or blow dryers.
On average, women spend 2 hours a day maintaining their beautiful manes, according to a recent study of woman ages 18-40. While two hours seems to be an excessive amount of time for one to stand in front of the mirror, the survey included much more than just styling. In addition, some of the added time included shampooing, conditioning, deep condition treatments, combing/brushing and blow drying. While some woman are lucky enough to just "wash and go", most others find it necessary to use one or more styling products. Among the most popular are hair spray, gel, moose, and anti-frizz control products. Some women find these items to be absolute life savers and use them every day!

While some believe hair is "just hair", others view it as their defining feature that sets them apart from others. Finding a look that makes you feel beautiful can boost your self-esteem and change your attitude, and cause people to take notice of you. These changes can be priceless and make the dollars spent absolutely worth it! Not to mention those two hours a day, too!
